The Holy Spirit

  • WE BELIEVE in the Ruach HaKodesh, the Spirit of the Living God, who proceeds from the Father and is sent through Yeshua the Messiah in fulfillment of the Scriptures.
The Ruach HaKodesh is fully divine and active in the redemption, sanctification, and empowerment of God’s people.

  • WE AFFIRM that the Ruach HaKodesh convicts the world of sin, righteousness, and judgment, drawing individuals to repentance and faith in Yeshua the Messiah.
    (John 16:7–11).

  • THE RUACH HaKodesh indwells every believer, uniting them with Messiah, regenerating their hearts, and incorporating them into the Body of Messiah.
    (John 14:15–17; 1 Corinthians 3:16; 12:13).

Through His indwelling presence, the Ruach HaKodesh teaches, guides, sanctifies, and produces spiritual fruit in the lives of believers, enabling them to walk in obedience to God and to live lives that reflect His holiness.

  • WE BELIEVE that the gifts of the Ruach HaKodesh, as described in the Apostles' Writings, remain valid and operative today when exercised in submission to Scripture and motivated by love. Believers are encouraged to earnestly desire spiritual gifts for the building up of the entire Body of Messiah. Love is essential, for without love, spiritual gifts are without value.
    (1 Corinthians 13:2; 14:1).

  • WE FURTHER affirm that, in addition to the indwelling of the Ruach HaKodesh at salvation, believers may receive the baptism of the Holy Spirit, an empowering work in which the Spirit comes upon the believer for service and witness (Acts 1:5–8).

  • “YOU WILL receive power when the Ruach HaKodesh has come upon you, and you will be My witnesses” (Acts 1:8). The purpose of this baptism is to empower believers for effective ministry, bold proclamation of the good news, spiritual warfare, and faithful testimony to Yeshua.

  • THIS EMPOWERING may occur at the time of conversion or subsequently, according to God’s sovereign will (Acts 10; Acts 19:1–5). We affirm that God is not limited by human expectation or formula, and that He distributes His power and gifts according to His purposes.

  • IN ALL who trust in Yeshua the Messiah, we believe that believers are also called to seek the fullness and empowering of the Ruach HaKodesh to serve God faithfully and to advance His Kingdom with power and humility. (Acts 4:29–31, 6:8–10, 1 Corinthians 2:4).
